Bulluck makes statement after Titans victory
Bulluck made this comment following the win against Baltimore on Sunday.
"I like how, with six minutes left, Kerry came in and commanded the game," Tennessee linebacker Keith Bulluck said. "He showed his poise and his leadership qualities in that last drive when we scored. Being a 14-year vet, with all the things he's done, I don't care how much talent a young quarterback has, they don't have that. They haven't played enough games."
Very powerful words from an incredible Titan defender.
While K.C. did not have a super game, he came in and with the help of the defense secured the win for Tennessee. What a great victory over a highly touted defense. This is one to celebrate, even if it was an ugly game. The Ravens are without doubt one of the toughest teams the Titans will face. The running game just could not get anywhere and the Ravens had more total yards on offense.
The Chiefs are up next and should be much easier to handle. With a week off, the Titans should recover and be ready to travel to Kansas City and be 6 and 0.

My question for Keith is
How does the young quarterback get to that point if he doesn’t play in the games?

Aaron Rodgers seems to have managed it.

That's my point.
You can continue to gain experience in the League from the bench. In fact, the evidence shows that that experience is really valuable.
Rookie season notwithstanding, throwing VY to the wolves early was not in his best interest. Fisher realizes that, probably always has realized that, and is doing what he can to give the guy the best chance to have a good career. I have no idea if that’s gonna work, but it’s the right thing to do, I’m sure.

Agree
With Danno on this one. In a perfect world, this would be Vince’s first year starting…after two years under McNair.

I thought it was an interesting quote as well.
I wonder if Collins “veteran poise” would have been enough to overcome a 21-point 4th quarter deficit. Because a certain young quarterback did so fairly recently.

Like 2 years ago?
Once again, if the VY from his rookie year was around, he’d be out there…

"I don't care how much talent a young quarterback has, they don't have that."
Bullock doesn’t seem to think even VY Rookie year could have done it. That’s why I was scratching my head.

Yeah, but 24 points is a helluva lot more than 10.
I didn’t say it was a greater feat. I said it was comparable.

Actually, scratch that.
I did say it was a greater feat in a different topic. So point on the Ravens having a better defense than the Giants did.

I don't like the qoute...
why can’t he just praise Kerry without obviously hitting on VY? why create division in the locker room? why does he create an issue which the media can chew on?
i feel like stripping his captain’s badge now.

I don't read that as a hit to VY. At all.
Why not a comparison to Flacco, who couldn’t get it done in similar circumstances. Or maybe it is a reference to VY, but if so, all he’s saying is the obvious: experience helps. That’s not a knock. Experience does help.

If some of us saw it...
i’m sure anybody from the team may have seen it too. Or some may have presumed it. Either I feel he shouldn’t have made that statement.

I don't think he was necessarily ripping Vince.....
Crap I accidentally hit post before I was finished.
I believe he was hoping to motivate him rather than alienate. At least I hope that’s the case.

I don't think it was a knock on VY, rather just praise for KC
Bulluck is a veteran and knows what it takes to win games, he is firmly behind Collins.
He is fighting in the trenches with KC and he can see leadership come out better than anyone on the sidelines or in the stands or watching on tv can. I will take him at his word and cheer for more wins.
Take a look at the final three drives by Collins. Dinger and the offense figured some things out and were performing decently. Prior to that nothing was good. Chris Johnson, the fastest Titan player couldn’t even gain anything on the ground.
Collins is not Brady or Manning, but he is getting it done, especially when it counts the most. I beleive in him and will continue to unless he starts giving games away. He had one pick that belonged all to him, other than that he played ok considering who he had to face. I don’t think he should be replaced anytime soon.

After that game, i'd like to praise Collins too...
but I wouldn’t knock someone else while doing it, specially if it’s a team mate. If that was not the intention, then he should have been atleast careful. Anyway, its been said already so hopefully the media does not pounce on it.

Maybe
he meant rookie QB’s don’t have 14 years experience. That’s how I read it. “They don’t have that.” 14 years experience. Oh yeah..I’m supposed to be at the Indy site. See ya next awesome Titan-Ravens game. Good luck and may we meet in the playoffs when we learn to finish.

I can't find any context around that quote anywhere
It wasn’t in the post game conference – tennessean just has it as an isolated quotation in one of their articles. Bulluck could very well have been thinking of flacco and not vy when he said that.
