Before I talk about ESPN, I want to discuss the Titans, and especially Kerry Collins awesome play on 3rd down and long last night. I rewatched most of the game again this evening and he came up huge in the 2nd half. On the drive that tied teh game at 14, he converted a 3rd and 10 on a long pass to McCaerins, and then a 3rd and 8 or 9 to Jones that got us inside the 5. Then, on the "score 7" drive (you had to be there), he converted a huge 3rd and 8 or 9 to Lavelle Hawkins. It was a great pass and catch. In the drive between those two, he should of converted a 3rd and long to Gage, but #12 dropped it. I thought that was Gage's worst game as a Titan. Thankfully Brandon Jones stepped up. Anyway, a great game by Kerry Collins.
I actually agreed with a lot of what the announcers were saying. It was a huge game for the Colts, but it was a statement game and a showcase game for the Titans. When Kornheiser was mouthing off about the Titans in the 3rd quarter, I hated hearing it....but mostly because I was afraid he may of been right. I was scared all week leading up to that game, and I would of given us a less than 25% chance of winning once we went down 8. We needed to do what we did the last 25 minutes of the game. We proved that not only are we a good team, but we proved that we could beat other good teams in the league (and yes, I think the Colts are a good team). We have a rested Packers team coming in on Sunday, so it won't get any easier.
I really don't think that the Titans are a dominant NFL team right now, but they are 7-0, have beaten all 3 teams in their division which is considered one of the best, knocked off the Vikings and the Ravens who both have very good defenses....so they have to be considered the best team in the league for now. It has been a very fun season so far, let's all enjoy it because special seasons don't come around all of the time. Go Titans!
One last thing, anyone that waa at the game last night- was the atmospher as awesome there as it seemed? I bet it was great to be there!
