Rivalry Re-newed

Ravens and Titans. An old and bitter rivalry is re-newed once again. I can remeber some classic battles between these two. Tennessee would kill us in the regular season, but we all know what happened in the playoffs during the year 2000.
Now Jimmy, i do have a few question about the Titans. Are you guys better with vince young or collins? I know Kerry Collins has kept this team undefeated through 3 weeks, but Tennesse now face thier toughest task yet. They have to come in to our house and defeat a bitter Ravens team that know they should have won on monday. I really hope Kerry can move cause he is going to be blitz about every down.
My 2nd question is, Who's Defense do you think is better, the Ravens or Titans. We all know that they draw alot of similarities, but let's break them down.
DL: Tennesse may have the best D-line in the NFL right know, but baltimore isnt far behind. Albert Hansworth....how can i put this.....IS A BEAST! This guy is incredible. When i watch him, he reminds me of a Young Warren Sapp except bigger and better. When it's all said and done, Hansworth could be recognized as the best DT to ever play the game. The Ravens have their own verision of Albert in Haloti Ngata. He doesnt get sacks like Hansworth, but i dont think there is anyone better at clogging the middle and stuffing the run then Ngata. I also think that if Baltimore played a regular 4-3 defense, Ngata could and probly would put up Albert numbers. In terms of the overall d-line, i give the edge to the Titans.
LB: This is going to the Ravens. No other lineman is playing better then Hansworth right? Well no other LB is playing better then Ray Lewis right know. This guy is moving like he's 25 out there. Not only is he playing well, but he got all his players playing well. I hate it when people say the Ravens sould let Lewis go because he is old. He may be older but he damn sure anit playing old. To me, Ray Lewis is a G.O.A.T. if you dont know what the means, look it up.
DB: I though about giving this one up to the Titans. No other CB is playing better then courtland finnigan. Not only does he shutdown recievers and get ints, but he also returns them for TD's when he gets a chance. Know, im going to say this is a tie. The reason is, Tennesse fornt 4 is so good, they dont even have to blitz to get pressure. They just rush 4 and drop back 7 making it easier for the secondary. The Ravens defense consist of unique and complex blitz that leaves alot of one on one macth-ups. Baltimore corners have to make sur they cover thier man because there will not be alot of help over the top.
Overall: In terms of the whole Defense coming together, I gotta say Ravens. Defense is what Baltimore is known for and it will be like that for a while. Tennesse D is defeniately in the top 5, but it is still not as good as the Ravens.
Cant wait for sunday. This game should defeniately be a great one!(please list coment, thoughs, agreements/disagreements, question below)

It's not a Rivalry!!!!

Don’t confuse a few great games for a rivalry between the two. You have to win a certain portion of the games for it to be considered a “Rivalry”. All i’ve seen is domination. I don’t mean to be spiteful by any means, but i don’t know any Ravens fans who consider this a rivalry. It’s only the Titans fans who hold this claim. I think this is because we won the majority of our prior meetings, as opposed to you guys holding a grudge for what potential glory we spoiled for you. ’Not being spiteful… Just keeping it real.

Thank you Ca[tain Obvious.

My argument was posed towards Titan and Ravens fans alike.

Obviously one Ravens’ fan feels it is a rivalry.

It certainly was a rivalry,...

…back when we were in the same division. However, now being in different divisions, it’s lost its luster and we’ve both developed other rivalries (Titans-Colts & Ravens-Steelers).

"You have to win a certain portion of the games for it to be considered a "Rivalry"."

Like say 2-2 since 2002 and the last playoff win? Haven’t forgotten a broke down Eddie George punking out your loudmouth MLB in prime-time have ya?

I consider a rivalry a few great games between two teams in the same division. The Ravens and Titans had great games with each other. The Titans may have dominated most of the games, but the ravens have the most memorable win/s. You can even ask the players on the teams if this is a rivalry and the majority of them would say yes. I do admit that it isnt the same like it was in the late 90’s and 2000-2003. I used to love when Ray and Eddie/McNair would go at it. This is a rivalry to me still and these two teams will play thier hearts out!

Correcting People

Just write your blog and get off your high horse Jimmy. Why don’t you follow my blogs around and correct my verbage and spelling Mrs. Crabtree? Your team is not that good and will be flat out pummeled Sunday. So put gas in the lawn mower- you’ll be pushing it around your single wide by 2:30.

Don't be so mad at me for being right

He said that only Titans’ fans called it a rivalry. I was just poining out that the thread he was writing in was written by a Ravens’ fan who called it, wait for it, wait for it, a rivalry.

Oh yeah, an offense highlighted by Joe Flacco, Ray Rice and a 40 year old Mason are terrifying...

you just better hope that defense is ready for the best O-line in the AFC and the fastest RB in the game, son.

To ignore the smack talk

and address your questions:

We are arguing amongst ourselves on this blog about whether we’re better with Vince or Kerry. See the “Kerry Collins has been no better than Vince Young” thread to see us throwing pie at each other.

Which defense is better? Well, statistically the Ravens are, except in the category of forcing turnovers – there the Titans have the edge currently. I agree with you (based on what I’ve seen of the Ravens) that our blitz packages are not as complex, but the Titans do still have some misdirection in their D.

It’s hard to consider it a rivalry anymore, since we aren’t in the same division, aren’t close geographically, and from our end of things the hated billick is gone.

But, it’s going to be a great game to watch regardless.

Almost game time kiddies..get your purple out

I am the first to offer a visiting fan a beer or a place to tailgate. I’ve shared my BBQ with Philly fans and my space heater with cold Indy peeps so I reserve the right to be slightly ignorant on a good web site. For nuts and bolts all the time visit boring team sites. I’d much rather tell it like it is (or isn’t) for the sake of fun. So who cares if Mason gets 150 or 140 yards receiving? Who cares if Rice gets 120 rushing or Reed gets 2 picks Sunday? That’s boring because we know that will happen. Now Gramsey711 gets it with- “douchecanoe”…now that’s the spirit damn it! I like that. How about- “turdkayak” or “cheesepaddleboat”. I’ll be lower lever Sunday screaming my head off. When Collins calls his first time out…that was me! LOL. If you make the journey up for a Raven’s game let me know…I have a few cold ones on ice for you and the best tailgate we have to offer..seriously.

It's 712.

And 13-10.

And 5 and 0.

And there was no better feeling than watching your “douchecanoe” middle linebacker get faked out of his dancin’ shoes for the winning touchdown.

Nice language...

…gramsey. Yup, you guys won and are the better team, as good teams find a way to win even if they get outplayed for the first 55 minutes of the game. However, your foul language is inappropriate, even if it is referring to a play not another fan posting. That MLB you’re referring to is still the best MLB in the NFL and Tennessee would love to have him, as well as every other team in the league.

Actually

I was referring to another fan posting—I just didn’t hit the reply button.

Your boy “raven” up there was taking a shot at me, so I just wanted to set him straight. Too bad he won’t come back to reevaluate his predictions for Mason and Rice and Reed.

I never said that the douchecanoe was or wasn’t the best MLB in the NFL, I merely mentioned that Crumpler and Collins made him look stupid on the game deciding play. That’s all.

And anyone who dances that much (see Shawne Merri…er, the entire Charger defense) is a douchecanoe.
