Cowboys Trade for Roy Williams
According to the Cowboys' personal ESPN reporter, Ed Werder, the Cowboys have acquired Roy Williams from the Lions. Werder reports it is for multiple picks but not a first rounder.
A lockerroom with T.O., Adam Jones, and Roy Williams will be very interesting. Can T.O. co-exist with another star receiver? I don't know, but I bet it will be fun to watch.

Werder was wrong apparently..
..here is what he has now
The Cowboys will give up a first-round pick in 2009, plus a third- and sixth-rounder that year for Williams and a seventh-round pick in ’09.
I am assuming that last one should read ’10. I know we all wanted Williams, but that is ENTIRELY too much to give up.

I'm hearing a bit different.
I’m hearing Dallas gives up a 2009 1st, 3rd, 6th, and Detroit gives RW and a 2009 7th.
A bit better, but stil WAAAAAAY too much.
I can't imagine
him being productive enough to warrant that. Not only that if you’re the Boys shouldn’t you be getting a corner now that Pac and Newman are both out? Not to mention a punter and a decent QB that isn’t named Brad Johnson.
Jerry worries too much about the foreplay and not enough about the sex.
Jerry Jones couldn't find the panic button, so he had a big one built and I think he just hit it
Michael Roos doesn't eat pitas because NOTHING BREAKS THE POCKET ON HIS WATCH!!!
Also
What do you put on the back of his jersey? You’ve already got one Roy Williams. Do you put R. Williams #2? hehe
It's a bit confusing, yes.
At least when we had like 8 guys names Williams on our roster they all had different first names.
But...
We did have two Chris Davises.
I’m still calling the one we have left Florida State Chris Davis because I think it’s a cool nickname.
If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

That sucks
I know the Titans are cool with what we have being 5-0 n’ all. But The Cowboys already have TO and knowing we could have gotten him. I mean, I think he wouldn’t mind being on the only undefeated team. Oh, well, it already happened.
i don't think
any larger than life wr in the NFL would be excited about coming to the Titans, and I wouldn’t want them to give up that many draft slots to get one either. jerry is pissing away their future desperately trying to get a superbowl win now. I prefer the “try to stay competitive / playoff caliber every year” approach as opposed to the “spend anything to get best chance to win this year” approach…
It's WAAAAAAAY too much to give up for a guy in mid-season.
You figure, even if he’s a GENIUS, it’s gonna take four weeks to learn the playbook and another two to get legitimately comfortable. We’re already at Week 7. Add in at least a week before he can see the field and another month before he’s actually productive, and all you’re talking about here is an upgrade on the last 3-4 games of the season and the playoffs.
Give up 3 picks for maybe 5 weeks of production? That don’t make no sense.
More to the point, the Dallas Offense was already good. It’s their Defense, especially their secondary, that can’t stop anybody.
As I said yesterday, Jerry Jones = Dan Snyder. Only, Snyder has finally realized that Fantasy Football is totally different than what’s played on Sundays.

Go Titans!
In JJ's defense
They were able to sign him to an extension, and they did have an extra 3rd rounder and an extra 5th rounder from the Titans. So he pretty much just gave up a 1st for him. I would go after him for a 1st.

Really? For 5 or so games of production?

Go Titans!
If it assured
you sign him long term for a reasonable number, yeah, I think so.
