Week 6 in the AFC South
The bye week is always tough. There are plenty of NFL games, good NFL games, to watch, but it just isn't the same. It is a little better though with the Titans sitting at 5-0 for the bye week. The Titans were off today, but there was a lot going on in the division.
The Indianapolis Colts proved today that they are not done with a 31-3 beatdown of the Baltimore Ravens. Most of us here were heaping all kinds of praise on the Ravens' defense after the way they played against the Titans last week, but Peyton Manning shredded them today for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Houston Texans got their first win of the season over what is proving to be a tough Miami Dolphins team 29-28. The Texans have played better than their record, and while I don't believe they are a playoff team, I think they are going to be close at the end of the season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars traveled to Denver and knocked them off 24-17. Don't look now, but the Jags have won 3 of their last 4 and are back to .500. A lot of people have written them off a couple of different times already this season, but they are a good team that will probably end up winning 9 or 10 games.
Boo all of the teams in the division winning, but they are all still looking up at our 5-0 Titans. The Titans did gain some "strength of schedule" points today with all of their prior opponents winning except for the Ravens Ravens and the Bengals.
Enjoy the rest of the bye week. I will be keeping an eye on the Sunday night game, but I really hate both teams so I hope it ends in a 0-0 tie.

Actually the Bengals lost too.
The NFC East got taken down a peg or two with the Cowboys and Skins getting beaten by teams that shouldn’t have beaten them.

I watched that AZ/Dallas game yesterday.
That thing was awesome! But the officiating was terrible. Not only did we see the reincarnation of the “tuck” rule, there were several other really, really bad calls, and all of the bad call went in favor of the Cowboys. Really, I was starting to wonder if one of the refs had money on the game. It was that ugly.
But… the Cards pulled it out with a last blocked punt. GREAT! I loved it.

Anyone else...
Looking forward to when the Titans travel to Jacksonville in a few weeks? Not to get all giddy after a win, but the Jaguars next three games are against Cleveland, Detroit, and Cincy, which could set up for a really, really important and exciting matchup against the Titans.
Not that a game between our teams needs any more build-up, but it could be a pretty important one.

I look forward to every game
But you’re right. The Jags are starting to look like the team they are supposed to and as always it will be a good smash mouth game to watch.

Too many people wanted to bury the Jags before the season even got going.
Yes, they’ve had O-Line troubles, but that’s still a very good Defense, and Garrard is playing very well. When they come back from the bye-week, Jax will be a force to be reckoned with.
