Interesting Cut

Oakland cut defensive end Quentin Moses the 3rd Round Draft pick out of Georgia.

I have not been following him this preaseason so I don't know if he has not played well, but I'm pretty sure the Titans had some interest in him during the draft, and we could use all the help we can get at DE.

Any chance the Titans might consider picking him up?

Maybe he's hurt or not playing well or something, I don't know, but out of college it looked as if he had plenty of potential and was even projected higher than he fell in the draft.

Also how about Jeremy Bloom as a return man?  I personally do not think it's necessary but I've heard it brought up before.  I am happy with Cort Finnegan and Chris Davis (especially after that punt return).

Anyone else have any good cuts that the Titans might be interested please input.

Star-divide

Patriots cut Reche Caldwell today... another spot the Titans would have looked at had it been a little earlier in the offseason.

The problem with someone else's draft picks...
...is that they're totally unknown quantities.  If you pick up a veteran, you at least have game film on him an sort of know what you're getting.  But if it's someone else's cut rookie, you're taking the chance that the guy is just a total bust or whatever, and you have to cut one of your own players to do it.

Though I just finished bashing him not five minutes ago, the truth is that Lamont Thompson is likely to land SOMEWHERE for this very reason.  He's a known hitter with plenty of game film out there.  You pick  up Lamont, and you know what you're getting--for better or worse.

" Moses, the first pick of the third round, was competing for the starting right defensive end spot until late in the preseason. "

" Moses, Darius and offensive lineman Kevin Boothe were the biggest surprises among the 20 players cut by coach Lane Kiffin."

I think Moses
is someone the Titans will at least look at.

I saw that
There was a big story about the Raiders and their draft picks on ProFootballTalk.com.  Interesting stuff.  Seems like Al Davis is losing his mind, which is kind of funny.
