The Tennessee Titans Sign Eric Moulds

Eric Mould is your newest member of the Tennesse Titans.  Molds caught more passes last season, 57, than any Titans receiver not named Givens have ever caught in a season.  Brandon Jones has 50 catches in his career.

Is Moulds the same receiver he was in Buffalo?  Absolutely not.  Is he the best healthy receiver on the Titans roster right now?  Absolutely.

Hey Jimmy
go ahead and delete the diary... I have a feeling he will start the season but won't finish it.

Interesting
pick up!  We touched on this earlier in the off-season.

in 2005 he had 81 Rec.  So was he decline in production last year due to the team he was on?

Fox just reminded
he is 34 but he must be good shape.. Reinfeldt wouldnt have hired him (for 1 year) if that wasn't the case.. too bad about Givens, bummer & God speed..

Moulds sounds EAGER, yeah, we likie!

Moulds' Drop Off
He did drop off a little bit last year, but I strongly think that was because his QB was once again on his back allot.

Still not the #1 that we need, but as BBB said he will compete. I think he will even improve his stats from last year, and help our young receiving corps. Assuming no injuries take place.

I definitely am happy with the signing of Moulds. Experience and leadership will only help the team.

Experience and leadership
is what this signing was about in my opinion.

Plus
no hits on his character like that other old-a$$ receiver they talked about signing.

I'm excited.  Anybody camping out at Metro Center tonight?

Go Titans!

I agree with White
The leadership this guy provides will be worth as much, if not more, than his production on the field.  The young guys could learn a thing or two from a successful veteran like this Moulds.

Eric Moulds=good pickup
Did you know that of all the WR's in the league last year, Eric Moulds caught the most passes that were thrown his way.  He caught 80% of the passes that were thrown to him.  His drop % last season was 1.4%.  While he is not a deep threat anymore, he has very sure hands and will help VY out a lot I believe.

The worries of Drew being gone are over
Loosing Drew Bennett Raised a big question mark about the receiving corps until now. I think that Moulds is even an improvement over Bennett.

Don't hate me for saying that, but he caught more passes than Bennett and his QB was on the ground more than he was standing up. Now with Vince I think he will be the most productive Titans receiver in a few years.

Now that I know what Kayne said about his Catch & Drop % It makes me think this even more.

I will not get furious
with you because I agree.

Not to
Mention that he played on the other side of a guy who caught 103 balls last year!

ugh
can he play DE?

i joke...

i guess i don't mind moulds...i've always liked him, actually...

but why again did we draft 3 WR's (in rounds 3, 4, and 5 no less)?

who will make the team?

i'll assume givens starts the season on some sort of PUP list to avoid having to cut a promising young WR...

i'll say this, if P.Williams gets cut after passing on some good DE's in round 3, I'll be pissed...

That's what I'm saying
Moulds, Givens, Jones, Gage, Roby, R. Williams, P. Williams, Orr, Filani, and Davis, Who will make this team?

MR has lost it....
why was freddie mitchell even being considered by MR?

"The team also looked at former Philadelphia Eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell as it searched for help at receiver and defensive end."

well wait, re-reading that passage, maybe he actually was considering playing a WR at DE? hahahahahahahahaha

MR, please, you can stop signing WR's and DB's now...Moulds was a good signing....but we now have plenty of bean poles and would like some more meat and potatoes.....

Moulds
may not be what he once was, he may never be.  But he is strong, he has good hands, and he is willing to go over the middle.  He was never a deep threat, he was a WR that could take slant break a tackle and make a big gain out of it. At least that is the way I have always seen him.  That is what our team needs , a guy with some ballz, and some experience. And most of all from what I've seen, a lot of tools that no one but B.Jones possesses. And even he has not shown enough to hold it down. Paul Williams looks to be that guy also. But I don't think there is any question that this is a good signing.

In an unrelated
related development Simeon Rice has been cut. Can we please sign him? that would make my off-season worth stressing over. I don't care for how long, or how much, make another worth while move. Please!

by Big Bad Bulluck on Jul 26, 2007 10:25 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

yes!!!!!
we have to push to sign Rice....right?

seems logical to me....we need a DE....MR even said we need help at DE....

let's sign him....please...
