Baltimore Ravens Fire Brian Billick

The Baltimore Ravens fired Brian Billick today. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Billick has long been one of my least favorite people in the National Football League. He was anointed an offensive genius after his time with the Minnesota Vikings, but never had a good offense in his time with the Ravens. His record with the Ravens was 80-64.

We have had some discussions today about Billick as an offensive coordinator here if Norm Chow leaves. I could not be more against that idea. I don't think he is that good of an offensive coach, and he is a jerk. 0 for 2 in my mind.

Well look,

I don't want to be a jerk about it. It just seems like Billick has an idea about what to do with a mobile QB. He was dying to get McNair and has seen as much success as you could ask for with 3rd string (and undrafted) Troy Smith.

But I'm sure there are other names out there. Maybe there are even some more recommendations?

This will be one of the toughest

decisions the organization ever has to make. It will be difficult to find a coach who can get the most out of Vince. It's really tough to even make a suggestion. Maybe Mike Martz? Maybe we take a risk and go with another college coach. We should definitely have plenty of options when the time comes to hire another coach.

I really don't think Martz fits in well here..

He absolutely dispises running the ball, and we don't have the recievers to run the spread system he would want.

I hate...

Brian Billick. He is the most obnoxious, errogant, jerk in the NFL (and other words I can't spell or say). I just laughed out loud when I saw he was fired.

Did anyone else ever see when he told the camera men to turn off the cameras (but one left it on) and he said F--- the Titans. CAN'T STAND HIM. I no longer care much for Mason, McNair, and Rolle because they CHOSE to play for that man.

I remember...

...when he used the same language during a playoff game. One could clearly read his lips as he voiced his sentiments towards the Titan bench.

Billick can thank Randy Moss for making him a head coach and Ray Lewis and his posse for winning him a Super Bowl. Other than that, he is just another run-of-the-mill NFL coach.

I was glad to see him go...his free lunch is over.

whats all this talk about firing chow!!!!! he's an offensive genius - we just need some wideouts who can GET OPEN! vince hasn't had any help with his recievers (tight ends as well), and we need a good third down back....
