Could Norm Chow Still Go to UCLA?
The Tennessean is reporting this morning that UCLA's recently hired coach, Rick Neuheisel, is going to contact Titans' offensive coordinator Norm Chow about taking the same job at UCLA.
I really hope he takes. It appears that Norm just isn't cut out to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL. He can't seem to figure out how to use Vince Young. You can say what you want about Vince's ability, but it has been obvious this year that the Titans are not running an offense that suits his style of play. Plus, you just don't tell the media that your quarterback pouts. I am not trying to say Vince doesn't pout, I don't know if he does or not, but that stuff needs to be handled in house. You don't hear Vince talking about how Norm isn't using him to the fullest of his abilities.

what attitude?
norm chow? what to say...he has shown his true colors: an immature, egomaniacal jackass.
vince has NEVER been one to pout and complain. jesus, he has the worst set of WRs in league history, an average running game, an average/above average line and an OC who publicly complained about the Titan's drafting him. not to mention a nagging injury that he also NEVER complains about. and then he gets thrown under the bus by this same OC who handcuffs him? can't believe any of you are buying chow's snake oil.
i have been and remain disgusted with blame being heaped on vince young by both the nashville and national media. unbelievable.

I wasn't gonna bring it up
"VY Criticism Alert"
And I AM A VY fan, but, here it goes
Anyone that has been to LP field will have noticed, if they watched, that when something does not go Vince's way, he will procede to first-get up and act like he is going after the player that just knocked the crap out of him (Bob Sanders), or he will throw the ball at someone (you all saw it on TV-last year?) then he will procede to the sideline where he will slam his helmet down to the turf (Jets game), then he will ignore and walk away from his head coach when he is trying to coach and instruct him. Worse, he will leave the field early while the clock is winding down at the end of the game (Jets game).
I don't really think it is that big of a deal--it is emotion, and emotion is a great thing on the field. But this is the NFL (not intramurals, brother!) where VY is not going to always be the best athlete or player on the field, and he is not always going to dominate. While I would feel better if VY would run over to the sideline after something goes wrong and talk to the coaches and look at the pictures and learn something so it doesn't happen again, I do like that he is not the always-stoic never shows emotion type. But you have got to be a team player. It is not always about you. Don't pout, don't throw a fit. Get ready to get back in there and win some football.
But don't get excited Joy Kat!
This is Vince Young's team. He is the future of this franchise and he will come around and be a stud just like Steve McNair did. I have no worries.
But Norm needs to keep his fat mouth shut. I can't believe Coach has not addressed that little comment. I wonder if he even knows about it.
But, Willyb, the criticism of VY is not being "made up." He needs to grow up a little, but it will come. And he's gonna be just fine.

Young does have a King size ego
The guy who I admire most lately is LeBron James. He was asked who he thought was the best player in the NFL, he replied "Kobe Bryant"
How refreshing it was to hear from a man who most would regard as the best player in the NBA saying that someone else is. If LeBron said himself, who could argue, but he didn't and I respect that.
Young did not say that when he was interviewed by 60 minutes. He was asked if he felt he was better than Reggie Bush, he said I always feel like I am better.
Confidence is one thing, huge ego is another and that ego needs to be down sized for him to be a real TEAM guy.

I'd kind of like to see...
Heh.
Seriously, that guy's play calling is just frickin' miserable. We have to pound the rock in the first quarter--when every D in the NFL is crowding the line of scrimage vs. the Titans--and suddenly come out throwing in the 4th--after LenDale has worn down the opposing Defense. I mean HELLO? What up with that?

If everyone here would be willing to refrain from attacking you, then would you be willing to hold back from posting things you KNOW will cause problems? You obviously want to be a part of this website, and Jimmy's given you a second chance. I'm willing to as well. So are you?

Y'know there are probably gonna be...
Seriously, think about a Titans team with Mike Martz as the offensive coordinator. Martz has an amazing offensive mind, he just needs someone to force him to balance his air attack game with a strong running game. Fisher would make that happen. And Martz is a guy who YOU KNOW could get everything out of VY. He's no NFL virgin. The guy is smart. And if he could deal with Kurt Warner's ego, I'm sure VY would be... well, similar anyway. Martz just needs to be forced to balance his attack, and Fisher would do that for him.

Yeah. What he said.
And how can you call a pass on 3rd-and-4 in the 4th QTR with LenDale White averaging 4-5 yards in a game where the opposing D is gassed? That makes NO SENSE! And that call damn near cost the team a trip to the playoffs.

Joy Kat
Joy Kat, if you're reading this, we as Titans fans are happy we made the playoffs. Vince Young's record as a starting QB is 17-11, while Collins as a Titan is 1-4. End of argument. Vince is young, Collins is old. No matter what you say or do Collins will never be the starting QB on this team except for injury. I am done talking to you and this will be the last post of yours I respond to.
Why do you feel it's necessary to annoy everyone on this site? Oh, and please don't answer that question.
